MultiWii 2.0

Finally 2.0 of the now world famous MultiWii software is released. It includes several bug fixes, more support for hardware and improved code. I ahve uploaded the final 2.0 release to both my Paris V4 boards – both have genuine sensors, Nunchuck and WiimotionPlus – 1 board is equipped with a BMP085 sensor as well.

I hope I can make my adjustments to the 2.0 software and try it on my Quad. When I know what to expect I can transfer the code to a Tricopter – It requires different settings compared to the Quadcopters. This should cause no problems.

Talking about the Tricopter – I am currently assembling a new yaw mechanism for the Tricopter built for a client. If this yaw-mechanism fails I have parts to assemble a more or less bullet-proof version instead. As the weather gets better every day I can now start working in my shed again. No heat during winter is not good for tools or equipments.

My tests with MultiWii is done with the 9X radio and FRsky RX using PPM signals (only 1 wire between receiver and MultiWii)
The same equipment will be mounted to the Bixler in order to test airplane mode.

I have flown the 2.0pre2 for a couple of flights now, and now the altitude hold mode works ! I did get the mystery esc:s i ordered, but i have not tried them yet, since the soldering was made by a blind chinese. They had wires that had commend loosed in the bags ! I must check all soldering and stuff on them before i try them, but my advice for now, don’t buy mystery 12a esc, quality sucks! I am designing a 3D printed tricopter now with the direct drive tail approche, no linkages.. You should get a 3D printer :-) By the way, would you like a gopro pan/tilt mount for your bilxer that i have made ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgXazcUqTUI

    Hello Peter!

I am very impressed by the UltiMaker – it is a bit cash than others but it looks good and does the job well. I hope I can get parts for a reprap during this year so I can start designing my own stuff – I saw your Quad – it is a good looking frame. About the pan/tilt – looks interesting (PM sent)

Now that I Ironed out the settings in MultiWii (for some reason the PPM sum signal was not correct) I will test the Quad tomorrow.
